I don't usually put up rough sketches from my sketchbook up here, but I quite enjoyed this, and have been considering how to get this kind of line quality back into the Photoshop produced work I make.

Student Magazine illustrations

For an article on Film soundtracks, the illustration features the characters from Submarine, which was mentioned in the article.

Done for an article about drugs.

Illustration done for a few weeks ago, which was reviewing a set of games being released soon.

End of second year.

Finally finished the second year, and I'm finally able to show what I've been working on.

Comic about how people reacted to my snap happy attitude, whilst in San Francisco.

Done for a project about illustrating a novel of our choice, I chose to do a Storyboard of The Outsider.

The Map Project, where we created an illustrated map on the country of our choice. Mine concentrates on the Meso-American mythology that was situated in Mexico.

Blindness

Photography project, based on the theme of blindness. Mine's about memory, and remembered events feature fractured images, rather than a complete image.

Identity in Society

Done for a project called 'Identity in Society' , about 3 months ago. The idea of the project was as the title suggests, what identity do we feel we have within society. Mine dealt with how I felt my personality was formed partly by the effects of my parents divorce. A lot of flaws in how I tried to illustrate the idea, and could have chosen a better composition, though happy with how I made it.
Just a practice drawing I made in Photoshop, to explore drawing with the lasso tool and textures.

'Alphabet' project

Here's something from my last semester, a paper-collage comic for a project about Alphabets. The idea was to express something as visually abstract as a conversation, with graphic symbols as a form of Alphabet for the spectator to read rather than written language. Parts of what I intended the characters to say get lost, but overall I'm pretty happy with this project.

(I'll try and get a better photo of this sometime soon)

Animations

An animation I did as part of a group for my Animation module, to address the issue of Reading among 11-13 year-old boys. The idea is that the animation is a trailer to a film, which is connected to a cross-platform campaign to encourage boys to read. Made with Tom Avery and Sarah Jones.

An animation I did nearly a year ago now, drawn during a lifedrawing class.

A rough image I made, to help with a tutors competition proposal.

Henry Sterling

Getting this blog started, is this Linoprint I did for a friend's birthday card. Basically a caricurature of his likeness, I'm pretty happy with the final result.
